There are two main types of paint to choose from: Latex and Acrylic Latex. How to Paint Like a Pro See More Paints and Stains www.canadiantire.ca With a few tips from the pros, your paint job will go faster, with better results. Before you start painting, open up a window or bring in a fan to help speed the drying process If you are changing from a dark colour to a light colour, or the walls have an irregular surface, then a coat of primer is called for. The primer will even out the surface and give the new paint a uniform surface to adhere to. When the primer is dry, youre ready to paint. If you have more than one can of the same paint colour, do what the Pros do. Mix them both together to ensure that the colour is even. This is called "boxing" the paint. Start painting the ceilings first, then the walls, baseboards then windows and finally the doors and frames. Cut in around all the corners and edges first. If the ceiling is a different colour, overlap that colour onto the walls by a few centimeters. Its easier to get a straight edge on the wall than the ceiling. Load the roller with paint by dipping it in the paint tray and distributing the paint all around the roller. When you use a painters pole to paint the ceiling, stand sideways to roll out the paint. This is less tiring than holding it in front of you. When you paint with a roller, start by painting a big "W" on the wall — about 1 metre square. Without re-loading, go back and fill it in. Continue on by starting in the next dry area and paint back towards the previously painted <b>…<b>
